Most Underrated Protest Song by the Beastie Boys (Video)

Activist Post

In honor of the Beastie Boys upcoming release of their new album on May 3rd, 2011 called Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, we are posting one of the must underrated protest songs. The Beastie Boys’ 1986 hit You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Party launched them as muckraking rebels to an impressionable American youth.  As they grew up, so did we — their songs became less about punks drinking brass monkeys, yet they still maintained deep protest tones mixed in with playful rap and dope beats.

Below is their 1994 hit Sabotage with lyrics.  They know the system is a controlled illusion and they’re angry about it.  The song is almost more fitting today as we see the blatant sabotage of the world around us.
